How do I register? |
1. Check if the service is available to your country
2. You MUST have a Credit Card. 3. Your Credit Card must be active to register for the service
4. Make sure that we have a delivery address in your country as well as an active e-mail address to communicate with you promtly.
5. Go to the Registration page
Once registered you will get a confirmation message that includes your US address in Miami and your PIN number to access your information. Your USA address will look like this:

What is the Global Boxes service? |
The Global Boxes service consists in providing foreign consumers, companies and institutions with a permanent U.S. street address to use as a "ship-to" address when buying from Catalogs or the Internet. |
What do I get with a permanent US address? |
You may subscribe to American magazines, buy from American catalogs and Internet retailers, even from stores which do not normally ship overseas. Your orders will then be forwarded to your overseas address. International shipping and handling is automatically charged to your Credit Card . |
What is the difference between Basic and Premium Service? |
Basic Service is limited to the Shipping and handling of parcels, packages and freight. There is NO registration fee.You only pay when using the service according to the rate schedule listed on our web site. Premium service, in addition to handling parcels,packages and freight, you are also assigned a USPS (United States Postal Serive) P.O.Box (Postal Box) for your personal or business mail. The yearly registration fee is $25.00/yr. In addition you also pay every time you use the service according to the rate schedule listed on our web site. |
If I order a computer that weighs 52 lbs, but comes in two separate boxes, which shipping rates will apply? |
The total shipment weight and applicable rate as appears on our web site. In this case 52 lbs. These rates can be viewed by clicking on the Country of your choice, under the "Rates” option. |
If I receive in the same day a computer weighing 38 lbs and a piece of furniture weighing 135 lbs, which rates will apply? |
Ifthey are from different "shippers", they are considered separate orders. The applicable chargeable weight would be 38 lb for the computer and 135lb for the piece of furniture |
Do I have to do my own customs clearance? |
No. Customs clearance is part of the Global Boxes service.However, custom duties and taxes are paid separate and are not automatically charged to your Credit Card TM. There might be instances at which Local Customs Inspectors will demand that only the "Owner" of the goods can clear the items thru Customs. When this occurs Global Boxes Local delivery Agent will coordinate with you to simplify the clearance process |
Can I have perishable items shipped through Global Boxes? |
No. |
Who is responsible for complying with the local custom laws of my country? |
You must comply with the laws; however, you may contact Global Boxes to verify any restrictions prior to purchasing any item. |
How do I purchase from catalogs not available for online ordering ? |
Now adays most every Catalog Company has its own Web Site which includes a "Shopping Cart". We strongly suggest you place your orders on-line.It is safer, it is more accurate and much faster than placing orders live. However, you can alwasy place orders by phone or by fax. It depends on oyr preference and the Merchants' internal policies. |
Who is responsible if I get items different from those I ordered or the quality of the items is not what I expected? |
The company from whom you purchased the items from. Even when the itmes are not what you expected you remain responsible for the Global Boxes shipping charges. |
What if I want to purchase something through the Internet? |
This is by far the most effective way to place orders or to find product that you are looking for. Buying on-line is easy. Go to store's Web Site. Select the item (s) you like. Proceed to "check-out". Make sure to include your Global Boxes "ship-to" address in Miami. DO NOT FORGET TO INCLUDE YOUR Global Boxes ACCOUNT NUMBER AS PART OF THE "SHIP TO" ADDRESS. |
What basic insurance is provided as part of the program? |
All shipments are covered for U.S.$9.00/lb up to a maximum of U.S. $100.00 in case of loss or damage due to negligence of Global Boxes. Some restrictions apply. You have to file a claim and submit it through the above listed sources. |
Can I insure a shipment for more than the basic insurance coverage? |
Yes. You can request additional insurance coverage through customer@transexpress.com or fax your request to (305) 592-7977. The cost is 3% of the CIF value. The insurance is subject to limitations in coverage as well as deductibles.You must also request that a certificate of insurance is provided to you at time of insuring shipment. MAximum value insured is US$2,500.00 |
